custom removable guitar graphics

atlanta, georgia

Q: Are the designs painted?

A: No, they’re static cling removable decals. The graphic is printed onto hi quality hi-gloss vinyl matte, or hi quality 3M printing plastic substrate, and backed with static cling plastic. The graphic is easily applied and removed and will cause no damage to your guitar’s original finish. The static cling will stick to most guitar bodies; those with a satin finish may not work so well; nitro or poly gloss finished guitar bodies will work fine. The vinyl provides a shiny, almost painted on look; many people think the graphics are painted on. The 3M printing plastic substrate is extremely durable.

Q: How do I apply the graphic decal?

A: It’s not hard. In most cases, you remove the strings, cut out the graphic with scissors/exacto knife, peel the paper backing off the graphic, and slide it into place on your guitar, then smooth it out by hand. No water is required and you can lift it up and shift it around on the guitar until it’s exactly in the right place. Instructions for install will be included with every order.

You may have to unscrew a jack or a control plate or remove a few volume-tone knobs, but it’s not difficult. You should be finished in about 15 minutes.

Most of our strat designs dont print over the pickguard, as its often a real hassle to get it all to line up correctly. We can do that with a custom order. In some cases tele players will remove the pickguard and leave it off, and put the graphic onto the wood underneath. In the event that a tele has a pickup wire channel cut into the body, a separate graphic for the pickguard will be needed to cover it.

It’s self-explanatory when you get the graphic, what needs to come off your guitar before the decal’s applied... this ain’t rocket science. You can always drop us an email for help.

Q: Will it fit my guitar’s body exactly?

A: At this time we are offering very close or close to exact matches on current American-made Fender Standard teles and strats, recent Gibson USA les paul standards and SG standards, and recent Gibson USA les paul special double-cutaways. If you email and indicate you have one of these models, we’ll send you a graphic with the cut lines and holes already marked, ready for you to apply. Other models, we can send you a less expensive graphic that has enough to cover your guitar but no guides, you measure it and cut it all out yourself. For an additional low cost, we can also furnish you a template on white paper, of the guitar closest matching yours, which you can cut out in advance and then make whatever alterations to the graphic you need.
